Instructional Facilitator

 

Purpose: To assist in ensuring quality instruction by focusing on curriculum, instruction and assessment.  Support district and building school improvement efforts through the development of guiding documents and by providing professional development with a specific focus on identified buildings.

 

Reports To: Director of Teaching & Learning

 

Salary: Based on Negotiated Agreement Salary Schedule

 

License Required: KSDE License Endorsement

Qualifications

  1. Possession of a valid Kansas teaching licenses with proper endorsements.
  2. Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university.
  3. Minimum of three years successful experience in teaching and/or demonstration of qualifies consistent with a master teacher.
  4. Other alternatives as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.

 

Essential Job Functions

  1. Assist USD 453 in the development and implementation of instructional models that ensure high levels of student learning and provide clear expectations to district teachers with a specific focus on identified buildings.
  2. Assist in the planning and implementation of the district curriculum.
  3. Assist in the development and implementation of district common assessments.
  4. Provides on-going, job-embedded professional development at the building and district level.
  5. Provide support to teachers in the implementation of effective instructional models by developing and providing instructional guides and resource alignment documents.
  6. Provide support to teachers in meeting the needs of diverse learners.
  7. Assist teachers in instructional planning which provides effective instruction to students aligned to the district curriculum.
  8. Assist in the collection, analysis, and presentation of instructional data.
  9. Assist in developing processes and documents to effectively communicate and implement district-wide intervention structures and SIT team processes.
  10. Assist in developing processes and documents to ensure effective collaboration and goal setting for grade level teams and departments.
  11. Assist in the development of processes and documents that align instructional data to instructional practice.
  12. Assist in the organization, maintenance, and distribution of instructional materials.
  13. Assist in effective integration of instructional technology to increase student learning.
  14. Meet and collaborate regularly with building and district administration.
  15. Participate in professional development and specific trainings to enhance knowledge and skills. 
  16. Provide research on best practice and communicate with other school districts to find exemplar practices.

 

Physical Requirements/Environmental Conditions

  1. Prolonged sitting or standing.
  2. Frequently required to stand and reach with hands and arms.
  3. Occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
  4. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  5. Interact with staff and to meet demands from multiple people/departments.

    3. Develops and monitors plans and goals to improve individual performance.

 6.      The employee practices responsible fiscal, facility, and resource management.

    1. Procures supplies and equipment following building budget guidelines.
    2. Establishes and enforces guidelines for students that ensure the care and maintenance of district facilities and equipment.
    3. Maintains and cares for school and district property in the teacher’s control.

 8.      Other Duties

    1. Performs other duties as assigned by the supervisor and in accordance with USD 453 Board of Education policies.

 

9.      Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:

  1. Ability to use necessary district-identified computer hardware and software, and other district-provided technology.
  2. Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with all segments of the school community
  3. Ability to lead group processes with small and large groups of learners at all ages.
  4. Ability to manage job responsibilities and to meet the established district outcomes.
  5. Ability to physically adapt to the compressed time schedule of a school day and year.

 

Contract Days:            186 plus extended contract days.
