Summer School Student Intern
Description: The Leavenworth School District’s Teaching & Learning Department is offering a paid summer internship program for high school students considering a career in education. This opportunity will give a real-world perspective upon which to base future career choices and enhance classroom experience. This is an ideal summer work experience for those interested in learning more about instructional practices, and classroom management.
Program Details
The Summer program runs five days a week (Monday-Friday) from June 3rd - 28th.
- Work Times: 7:45 am - 2:45 pm
- Locations: Henry Leavenworth Elementary, Richard Warren Intermediate, Leavenworth High School
Program Requirements
- Assist with the implementation of curriculum for the Summer Program.
- Work with the Program Admin Intern, Certified Teachers, and USD 453 Administrative Team to implement programming.
- Participate in trainings related to the Summer Program
- Address individual children’s instructional needs.
- Assist in administering pre- and post-assessments in order to measure student progress and program effectiveness.
- Assist in monitoring breakfast and lunch programs.
Compensation
Summer School Interns will be paid at the rate of $10/hour. All employees are required to fill out time sheets for summer duties.
Selection The Human Resources Department and Teaching and Learning Department will do their best to have assignments set by the first of May. |
