Reports to: Assistant Director of Technology
Qualifications:
- Must have or be able to obtain a valid Kansas driver’s
- Must have knowledge of a variety of computer hardware and technology related equipment.
- Ability to work and interact with peers, district staff and the general public in a positive and constructive manner.
- Must be able to do detail work and record keeping.
- Must have demonstrated a good school or previous employment attendance record.
- Such alternatives to the above qualifications as may be appropriate and acceptable.
Purpose and Objectives of the Position:
To install and maintain technology systems, in such a way to promote the effectiveness of the school system as a learning organization maximizing the educational opportunities and benefits to each individual student, staff, and school community member.
Special Skills, Knowledge, Abilities:
- Ability to read, analyzes, and interprets general computer technology periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
- Ability to write reports and technology correspondence.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from teachers, parents, students and administration.
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discount interest proportions percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
- Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to risk of electrical shock. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; high precarious places; outside weather conditions; and extreme heat. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
Performance responsibilities general administration:
- Maintains, analyzes, troubleshoots, and repairs technology equipment and initiatives.
- Maintains, troubleshoots, set up, and repairs audio/video equipment.
- Installs new software releases, system upgrades, evaluates and installs patches and resolves software related problems.
- Maintains, updates, repairs and deploys workstation imaging.
- Maintains data files and monitors system configuration to ensure data integrity.
- Set up Networked workstations and print stations.
- Troubleshoots and repairs network printing problems.
- Aides in installation of network cabling.
- Aides in workstation design and configuration
- Installs and configures network adapters.
- Maintain accurate records of technology inventory at the building level.
- Respond to technology information requests in a timely and professional manner.
- Other duties as assigned.
Physical Requirements/Environmental Conditions:
- Requires physical exertion to manually move, lift, carry, pull, or push heavy objects or materials.
- Ability to manually lift a maximum of 60 pounds.
- Requires stooping, kneeling, crawling, bending, turning, climbing, balancing, and reaching.
- Must work indoors and outdoors year-round.
- Must occasionally work in noisy and crowded environment, with numerous interruptions.
- Must work in and around dust, fumes, and odors.
General Responsibilities:
- Install, configure and support operating systems and productivity packages,
- Install, configure and support window applications word processors, spreadsheets, databases, publishing programs and Internet browsers and software.
- Install, configure and support various third party applications.
- Troubleshoot, repair, upgrade and maintain academic support systems to include: desktop and laptop computers, scanners, printers, floppy/fixed disk drives, Bios configuration, memory installation, CD/DVD Rom installation.
- Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain Laser Jet, Inkjet printers to include paper jams, ribbon, ink, toner replacement, maintenance kit installation, memory upgrades, driver installation, cleaning.
- Inventory technology items.
- Other duties as assigned.
Pre-Employment/Yearly Requirements: Employee shall meet all the pre-employment and yearly requirements as specified in the Policies of the Board of Education.
Term of Employment: At will.
Salary: $15.25/hr, based on the USD #453 Salary Schedule
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt; Hourly
Evaluation: Performance effectiveness will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of Board of Education Policy.
