Title: School Age Program Assistant Instructor

Purpose and Objective of the Position:
The Leavenworth Public Schools Education Foundation's Horizon Kids Program provides a safe, educational and fun school age care program. Our program provides before school care from 6:30 a.m. to the start of school, and after school care from dismissal to 6:00 p.m. for K-4 students. The Horizon Kids program is located at Anthony, David Brewer, Henry Leavenworth, and Lawson Elementary Schools.
Qualification/Duties:
- 16 years of age
- Pay is $7.25 an hour
- Ability to provide supervision and guidance to children
- Follow Kansas Department of Health and Environment (KDHE) regulations
- Supervise children
- Interact with children daily
- Assist with the preparation of activities
- Wipe tables for snack
- Assist with the distribution of snack
- Keep the areas clean and free of debris
- Fill out timesheet on a regular basis
- Maintain good communication with parents, Horizon Kids staff and school staff
- Assist with activities in the classroom, gym and/or outside
- Discipline children as issues arise but look to the director for guidance and support
- Transition children from one activity to the next
- Perform other duties as assigned
Pre-Employment/Yearly Requirements: Employee shall meet all the pre-employment and yearly requirements as specified in the Policies of the Board of Education.
Term of Employment:At will.

Evaluation: Performance effectiveness will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of Board of Education Policy. |
