Purpose: The Extended Learning Program Coordinator will lead efforts for the full scope of our afterschool, summer and intersession program offerings focused on identified buildings to ensure an enriching learning experience for students. 

 

Reports To: Director of Teaching and Learning

 

Supervises: Classified Program Staff

 

Salary: Based on USD 453 Salary Schedule

 

License: Valid KS Teaching License is preferred, but not required

Qualifications

  1. Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management, Education or other applicable field; Masters degree preferred
  2. Five (5) years of experience in program management, education or related field
  3. Demonstrates effective project management and communication skills
  4. A valid driver’s license

 

Essential Job Functions

  1. Responsible for the planning, implementation and budget management of the after school, summer and intersession program offerings district-wide
  2. Recruit, hire and supervise classified staff, college students and/or volunteers in the extended learning programs and partner with administration to support the needs of certified staff also serving within the programs
  3. Plan and implement a communication and outreach strategy to recruit participants through the use of print material, electronic communication, social media, promotional presentations and personal contacts. 
  4. Develop rapport and build relationships with school staff, parents, family liaisons and other community outreach contacts to increase visibility of and participation in the extended learning programs
  5. Collect and analyze various data points for the purpose of program reporting, including but not limited to attendance of program participants. 


Physical Requirements/Environmental Conditions

  1. Ability to sit and stand for prolonged periods of time
  2. Ability to enter data into a computer, to see and read a computer screen and printed material with or without vision aids
  3. Ability to hear and understand speech at normal classroom levels, outdoors and on the telephone
  4. Ability to speak in audible tones so that others may understand clearly in normal classrooms, outdoors and on the telephone
  5. Ability to travel between work locations
  6. Physical agility to lift up to 25 pounds to shoulder height and 50 pounds to waist height
  7. Ability to bend, stoop, sit on the floor, climb stairs, walk and reach overhead
  8. Regular attendance and/or physical presence at the job.
